Atlantic City Electric provides more than $1 million annually to organizations and efforts across southern New Jersey. The Sustainable Communities Grant Program provides $75,000 in grants annually to fund open space, environmental, and resiliency projects.
The program provides $50,000 in grants, up to $5,000 each, to municipalities for projects focusing on open space preservation, improvements to parks and recreation resources, and environmental conservation.
Atlantic City Electric has partnered with Sustainable Jersey to facilitate this grant program. Sustainable Jersey is an organization that researches best practices for what communities could and should do to contribute to a sustainable future, provides tools, training, and financial incentives to support communities as they pursue sustainability programs.
In partnership with Sustainable Jersey, Atlantic City Electric is providing grants to the following municipalities:
- Cape May City, $10,000
- Egg Harbor City, $10,000
- Hamilton Township, $10,000
- Medford Township, $10,000
- Clementon Borough, $5,000
- Downe Township, $5,000
- Hammonton Township, $5,000
- Middle Township, $5,000
- Salem City, $5,000
- Waterford Township, $5,000
- Wenonah Borough, $5,000
