The Department of the Navy (DoN) is offering some $10 million in funding opportunities for new small business partners in the areas of autonomy, artificial intelligence, microelectronics, and command and control networks.
Funding is part of a broader DoN initiative with DoN Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs – both located at the Office of Naval Research (ONR).
The $10 million will be announced through a new Broad Agency Announcement (BAA), called FY20.3, currently is in pre-release status. It will officially open for proposal submissions on Sept. 23 and close on Oct. 22.
FY20.3 is one facet of a larger SBIR/STTR effort to make it easier for small businesses to work with the Navy and Marine Corps, with streamlined proposal requirements and expedited payment schedules to make the SBIR/STTR programs faster and more impactful.
